Anti Ragging cell

Ragging is a form of abuse perpetrated on students, particularly new entrants. To check the menace of ragging, ASCE has constituted an Anti-Ragging Cell.

The objectives of this Cell are -

  • To make students aware of the perversity and dehumanizing effect of ragging.
  • To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging, so as to prevent its occurrence.
  • To promptly and stringently deal with any incident of ragging, brought to our notice.
  • To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging, shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.

Ragging is Defined As

Any disorderly conduct, whether by words spoken or written or by an act of teasing, mal-treatment or mishandling of a student, indulging in rude, rowdy or indisciplined activities which cause or are likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm, which raise fear or apprehension in a fresher or any other student, of asking the student to do any act or perform something, which a student would not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or any other student.
